International Medieval Congress?

I am assuming everyone will have been sent details of this event, held in Leeds in July. I have never heard of it, which is probably down to my innate ignorance. Does anyone know if it is any good?
Has it happened before?
They say they have 1400 delegates coming, but that means nothing if they are all pompous academics, it could mean they would all like to buy stuff for their students/museums to play with....as they are all wonderful enthusisasts for their subject.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated please folks.

I'm going! 8)

It is an academic conference which has been running for many years - I've been a few times before, and think it's fantastic, but I'm not a trader.

I might even stay over at my sister in law's and go to the armouries as well, woot.

I'm presenting at it, and will be going to the whole thing, so if your sister-in-law won't have you, you'll be welcome to stay at mine. I'll be local by then! 8)

I've been for the last few years and presented parers at the last couple.

This year Soper Lane are sponsoring a session. Both Gina and I are presenting papers, along with Machi Sasai of Ochanomizu University. Debbie Bamford is moderating for us. We aren't trading.

It is a wonderful - or dangerous - opportunity for book buying ...

Thanks for the help chaps and chappesses, at least I know it's genuine...
I will think very hard, you will probably hear the grinding of the rusty cogs, and try to work out whether and what I sell will appeal to the academics!
