Beware programme makers

Postby Jackie Phillips » Tue Sep 18, 2007 6:02 pm

Without wanting to repeat myself - see here for details http://livinghistory.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=10856 - I've been contacted by this company wanting details of customers who might be willing to take part in this programme.

I told her what I thought, but she may continue to try.

That is really dodgy ground for them!
Such information comes under the umbrella of 'data protection'. & potentially a £5K fine.

As i said in the other thread, I get them contacting me about customers relatively regularly - usually they're interested in anybody getting married, or having some sort of special occasion.

pretty sure any fine would be for anyone passing their customer's details to the company and not the company itself, but guess they know that

looks like they getting desperate and really scraping the barrel

pity they not try some of the beer and bash groups, or maybe the clan, they would love the publicity :)

That's bad enough but at LifeRites we get them wanting to film funerals that we are conducting  I just mutter "ethics" and politrely bid them goodbye.
