Cheese dream ARP wardens snack

Postby thevaultfreemagazine » Tue Apr 15, 2014 8:43 pm

From my 1940s cook book
you would make lots of these up and hand em out to wardens, fire service etc in a WRVS kitchen

Make a cheese sarnie if you have pickle or chutney put some in it. Mix Reconstituted egg or 1 egg with 2 spoons of milk in a bowl and soak your sarnie in it. Fry it! Very filling.

WVS during the war, they were granted their 'R' after the war for their service.

And these are really tasty!

Obviously depends on what condition cheese and bread you have, and whether you use butter or margarine... either way its filling!

I will be putting pictures and details up on my page soon.
