Hi, we are having a "Food Day" at work where everyone brings a dish and the theme for this month is English food. I thought that I might do something 14/15th Century.
I need to provide something savory that is easily transported and doesn't need "finishing off" at table. Some has already doing a savory flan so I can't fall back on Tart de Bry
Any ideas gratefully received

Unleavened bread is easy to make. Get some brown bread flour, and mix with with a splash of water and pinch of salt. I often put chopped rosemary in mine. Shape it into flat bread a bit like a pitta about 10 mil thick. bake on a flat tray till golden. It wont keep long so freeze if need be.
an apple coffin is going to look good. Depending on how authentic you want it, make up pastry and line a rectangular dish. Boil some sliced apples till soft, stir in a pinch of cinnamon and a teaspoon of honey. When apples are soft, drain excess juice off, and put them in your coffin. roll out a lid and cut it to shape. Bake till golden. (A coffin is a pie case)
