Historic Food Day at Clarke Hall
A one day free public event
Saturday 15 September 2012, 9.30am to 6pm
Join us this autumn for an Historical Food Day of talks, workshops and food demonstrations. Set in the 17th century Clarke Hall, Wakefield, this one day event will have themes including 17th century ceramics for cooking, medieval famine, and the history of chocolate, coffee, tea and 'whitepots' (baked puddings).
Speakers and demonstrators will include:
Ivan Day (food historian)
Richard Fitch (Tudor cook, Hampton Court Palace)
Annie Gray (food historian)
John Hudson (historical potter)
Iona McCleery (medical historian)
Eileen White (food historian)
Refreshments and a buffet lunch will be provided.
Booking is essential as places are limited. The event begins with registration from 9.30am and will end at 6pm.
