Paint Brushes

Postby ceilteach_kitten » Sun Jul 27, 2014 9:35 pm

Hi all. I'm trying to improve the authenticity of my medieval calligraphy display and was wondering if anyone can suggest where I can get some decent animal hair paintbrushes from?
Please note that I don't want to get into a discussion about authenticity e.g. use of vellum and proper preparation of parchment etc, which I know is a pet hate of some folk on here. I'm just looking for advice on suppliers (if there are any!) of reasonably authentic brushes for the early- middle medieval period.
thanks.

Try Richard at 6 of 1 http://www.6of1.biz/

He makes excellent authentic brushes.

Not sure whether they are on his website - an email direct to him would be best. He generally has the makings to hand, but sells them as soon as he makes them.
