Colour "bends"

Postby guineapigmuffin » Mon Aug 19, 2013 10:22 pm

A discussion came up whilst at Bosworth over the weekend.
Should a "bend" be worn, left to right or right to left?

I have spent the last few hours trying to find the correct way to wear a bend.

I can not find any pictures or paintings with men at arms/knights wearing them.................until about 1700.

So, is it correct to wear a bend at medieval battle re-enactment?

Thoughts?
