Oxen moving a paragraph with a rope

Postby Midland Spinner » Sat Nov 19, 2011 9:00 pm

A couple of years ago I borrowed a book on illuminated manuscripts from the library. In it was an image of a team of oxen dragging a paragraph in the text - apparently a copying error had meant that the paragraph was out of place and the scribe had drawn a team of oxen dragging it to the correct position.

Unfortunately I had to take the book back to the library and forgot to keep a note of the reference to the illustration or the title of the book. When I tried to get the book out of the library again it had been circulated to another library and I couldn't find it.

Can anyone point me to the illustration????

Or did I imagine it?
