I've recently started a blog on my thoughts and experiences on Re-enactment/Living History called "Re: Living History"

But I was wondering if anyone else here has a history related blog, or has a favorite one they like to read?

I do, but it's WW1 and WW2 related so probably not of interest.

There are some fantastic ones out there, real mines of info.

I've recently discovered Good King Hal (Tudor, of course), and there's one called Haandkraft which shows examples of craft work from Scandinavia, though they post infrequently.
Not a re-enactor, but Got Medieval is always funny and fascinating.

I run a blog, I don't post that often.

It is not a reenactment one as such, but the subject is one that has sprung from living history etc.

Thank you very much for your replies. I must admit, I'm rather surprised that there are so few re-enactor/ment blogs out there. (At least when googling for such things). It's good to hear there are more.

I have an archaeology/osteology blog here: http://ossamenta.dreamwidth.org/ Not as often updated as I'd wish, but life has a tendency to interfere. I second Haandkraft (http://haandkraft.blogspot.com/), Medieval silkwork (http://m-silkwork.blogspot.com/) and the blogs they link to.

I've just come across another one - Period Wardrobe. The writer was involved with the Luttrell Psalter Film, but has also done costumes for Queen Catherine Howard and the Girl with the Pearl Ear-ring, among others.

Not re-enactment as such, but an account of converting a ...wait for it......garage into a medieval banqueting hall, plus menus etc. There will be 5 in the series eventually.

Hey all, I'm proud to present a new blog that is hosted, authored and maintained by the Academy of Historical Arts. We call it "Encased in Steel" and our purpose is to write interesting and thought provoking essays and articles about European history, sometimes concentrating on the martial aspects of our history, sometimes concentrating on general history, and sometimes concentrating on the traditional handcrafts from past centuries. Hopefully this blog will be of interest to members of the HEMA community, to members of the historical re-enactment community, to teachers and students, and to anyone with a passing interest in history.

We will be publishing a new article every Friday afternoon, and will hold to this weekly submission. Our contributors have built up a queue of articles ready for posting, so that we should be able to keep posting without dry spells. Our goal is to be one of the most interesting and most professional history and HEMA blogs currently active!

If you are intrigued, then come and pay us a visit:
http://www.historical-academy.co.uk/blog/

We have this week's article written and posted, next week will be a review of the SWASH weekend.

I started one for our watermill last Autumn http://www.strettonwatermill.blogspot.com which though not exclusively historical does cover the past of the site, as well as folklore and traditions.

I've also just started another one a fortnight ago for my living history work, www.pilgrimsandposies.blogspot.com which likewise is a mixture of history, folklore and reports of events.

I'm finding blogging a great way to reflect on the experiences we've shared with the public and things that we've learned along the way.

Today is the one year anniversary of Encased in Steel! A special anniversary review article has gone up on the blog to talk about how we have developed and moved forward over the last 12 months. We hope you will find it an interesting read, and please do go back through our archives to see if there are any articles that you have missed! Any feedback about the blog is very welcome, just send me a message - we will be happy to take your ideas on board and consider them.
