I'm glad it hasn't curtailed your usual highly entertaining entries in the '4 word story' :D

Excelent. That's another 1500 quid towards the upkeep and restoration of the castle

You should have seen it before they stitched it up. I'd often wondered what my skull looked like

Yep Simon was a nobber, a lucky one and we are thankful, but PL, there is no need to be so pious about it, Simon is evidently embarrassed and relieved. He does not need to show his wound as a message to others, he ballsed up and his scar wont put anyone off really.

:o  :^) Really…… pious?
I shall intend to stand by my values and morals, and my oath to protect and preserve life.
As for the ‘ and his scar wont put anyone off really’ well… I cannot do much about that assumption, but when he made this statement…
Quote: I shall be showing off my scar at Caldicot next month if anyone wants a look
It was a little blasé…
Perhaps as you say ‘He does not need to show his wound as a message to others,’ but it would be prudent to do so.
This is your personal view and stance; it may not however be his… he admitted, he has learned a very valuable lesson.

I do not intend to continue with this discussion nor debate any further… points have been made and clarified, enough has been said.

:) I do, however wish him well…

The thought manifests as the word…The word formulates and expresses as the deed…The deed progresses into inclination….And the pattern strengthens into character…So watch the thought and its ways with care as it may well become an incident!

"I shall intend to stand by my values and morals, and my oath to protect and preserve life. "

Good for you, however, it was preachy, I could see the finger wagging from here, impressive it was too.

"but it would be prudent to do so. "

Maybe we should all display our scars to 'warn' others of our stupidity, we could spend a lot of time doing that, I have a nice set of barbed wire scars on my leg from climbing over a park fence.

Don't forget your ball.

Funny things scalp wounds. I had one when I was about 10 or 11 where my skull was exposed (not alchohol related, I just fell out of a tree), there was no concussion, the skin was torn by a glancing impact. I literally felt nothing apart from the warm sensation of my shirt being soaked with blood. the first discomfort I had was 'itching' days later.

It certainly didn't put anyone in the CoC off drinking alcohol

For the record I have always rather accident prone whether drunk or sober so whilst booze was a factor in this particular incident it wasn't the only cause.

'tis but a flesh wound, he's had worse.........seriously though, it's an impressive scratch on the head. It may be worth the master of the company doing the rounds before bedtime to check on all and sundry before blowing out the candles and dousing the campfire. I had the end of my index finger chopped clean off many moons ago by a viking with a big axe and an attitude and didn't even notice until someone in the line asked where all the blood was coming from. Adreneline also masks the pain and injury (at least for a short while) and it's worth doing the occasional VSE if you're in the melee (Visual Surveilance of Extremities).

Master of the Company? Not sure we've got one of those. There's the Camp Steward I suppose but as of the coming season that's me! Whoops
