15thC scabbard.

Postby Rod Walker » Mon Jan 16, 2006 2:58 pm

Hi, decided to make a period scabbard and belt for a Windlass Towton that I picked up in a swap. I am pretty impressed with the sword so thought it deserved a better scabbard then the horrible leather one it came with.

This scabbard is a wood-cored one. I made everything except the silver rondels and the chape (which came off the old scabbard). I even made the buckles from scratch.

Did I mention that this is the first time I have made anything like this :D

Are the rasied bits wood or leather?

Great job!! I love the raised bits! And that is a mighty long sword! ( no implications intended!)
