Teutoburger Wald 9 A.D. or Sheffield Fayre 2008??

Postby squamatus » Wed Aug 27, 2008 3:55 pm

As a mini homage to all those low (and not so low) budget historical productions that take liberties with authenticity, we took some time out at Sheffield this weekend to mark next year's 2000th anniversary of the massacre of 3 Roman legions by German tribesmen...

Well at least everyone's authentic, apart from one German Auxiliary we recruited in the beer tent the night before!

Quite possible. There seems to be a lot of gratutious use of reenactor images for such things these days.

Nick, Heath & our friend Mitch appeared as a line drawing on the back of the Lexx Roman figures boxes - nicked wholesale from a photo on our website.

Apparently this sort of thing is happening spontaneously in beer tents at multiperiod events all over recently
