I picked up this link from al in the 36th.
It looks like a C18th Dutch drill.
Interesting but don't know what it actually says mind you.

Looks like the knob on Playmobil muskets so the soldiers can shoot with them

I'd point out that it is in fact the shoulder strap for his musket being held tight so it's flush to the gun

Because it's easier to operate a pump action with the strap out of the way. Obvious really.
