Rawle's Pattern Cartridge box question

Postby PoD » Thu Mar 14, 2013 10:42 am

I am in the process of making one of the Rawles pattern 36 hole cartridge boxes and I could do with some help if any one has one of these.

I need to know how deep the holes are in the reversable wooden block. Also the dimensions of the reversable wooden block would be good too.

Can anyone help?

The one Najecki makes has holes 2 1/4" deep.

What period have you based yourself on Pat? only the British Soldier saw very few prior to 1782 when the design was unofficially approved so Privateers I would imagine to be a lot later. Roy Najecki's Box is very good bar the white stitching, best to dye that Black.

Cheers

Colin
