BATTLE OF PRESTONPANS 2010

Postby bonnieprincecharlie » Tue Jun 15, 2010 4:41 pm

A note from the Battle of Prestonpans (1745) Heritage Trust:

This year, the Battle of Prestonpans Commemorations will be bigger and better than ever, featuring events spread across a whole week, culminating in the re-enactments weekend...

FRIDAY 24th , SATURDAY 25th and SUNDAY 26th SEPTEMBER

Please note that this year, the living history encampments at the Cuthill Park will be open on Sunday also, with the battle being refought on the Sunday as well. So twice as much fun as last year!

The full programme will be released soon, but please take this advanced notice of the extended event.

Any questions please contact me, as I am responsible for the programme:

Perhaps the Eyetalian/Polish calender is different to the British one, after all Potsnpans is pre the '52 calender change.

I hope to do it one day, but this weekend is the national platform for living history weekend (LPLG weekend).
It's the organisation that makes it possible for us to carry weapons and it's a kinda obligation to go to their event.

Greenthings,

Wim-Jaap

Participant regiments are detailed in the warning orders.

We're expecting a good turnout from a number of groups, which should result in an successful event. The week's two warm-up events, at Duddingston and Dunbar, have both been very effective at getting everyone in the mood at this end...

To arms, then!

No worries Vic, I'll get back in touch with you about it after this weekend.

Enjoy Delft, only been once but as I recall it was a lovely town with plenty to see and do....... even the pottery factory wasn't too bad for a "look"!!!
Cheers

Speaking of The Battle of Prestonpans Heritage Trust, we've just uploaded a monologue from Arran Paul Johnston taken at this year's Kelmarsh. Et voila!

That would be on the Lace Wars camp in my tent at Kelmarsh this year. The pictures on the web site (other than Arran) are of Rose and Thistle part of Lace Wars.
