WW1 German Groups in the UK

Post by czartank »

Just having got off the phone with an event organiser- he left me with an interesting question- how many WW1 German groups are there in the UK? I only know of two-IR28 and Sturmabteilung Brandt- we also have a solitary Saxon artilleryman in our group - does anyone know of any others?

The Birmingham pals have a section who represent Hessisches Reserve-Infanterie-Regiment Nr.116 and they can turn out a good section. there are a few images here on the group page.

Far from it, in fact recruitment for both British and German sections is at a all time high. we are lucky in that we are one of the few WW1 groups that have acsess to a Replica Trench system (at the Staffs regiment museum) which is a far better place to hold a WW1 battle than the standard farmers field, Going over the top in the dark into heavy machine gun fire is certainly one of the most adrenaline fueled things i have ever done in reenactment.
