Hi F&B,
The only RAF Group that was at Victory show was "An Airfield Somewhere In England".
I was at Victory show acting as RAF Liason for a French/ Jedburgh's group.
Pity about last year :( I really like the event.

ahh, "An Airfield Somewhere In England", thats the bunnies, what a great bunch of lads they were too, really enjoyed the interaction with them over that weekend, they were genuine, helpful and up for a laugh with the Axis bods (us) opposite, I do hope that we can catch up with them again sometime soon.

Victory Show is our absolute Fave show, the atmosphere, the battle, the aircraft and the public (always appreciative) make it a nice way to end the season. 08 was a shame, but the weather we have no contol over, looking for ward to this years already. We are suggesting the Beer Tent dress code should be 'Hogans Heroes' this time :D

They're ok in my book.

Victory is the best event we do. :D

We are always friendly with the Axis forces as we do battle against them.

Good banter is what it's all about, we find 99.9% of the Britishers are a pleasure to work with, and we (as the bad guys :D ) try to get along with everyone, allowing for random invasions and small things like that  .

We are free on the date you mentioned, do you want me to PM you the events secretary's details?

Hi PebbleMonkey, nice to see another ww2 type on here.

I agree with you totally about the comradery, We russkies have a brilliant banter with the germans in the NWW2A.

Hope to see you at an event sometime, I'm easy to spot, I'm the huge red army assault engineer for the 13th Guards, usually seen chasing the German Marder with anti tank grenades and molotovs (I'm sure he's put the drive backwards in that thing, it's quicker in reverse than going forwards)

Hi All,
Just finished No58, its a Uniform I started to put together for when I work at the KSLI museum open days.

Its a tribute for my Great cousin Edward Wagg who was killed 17th july 1944 in Bocages Belguim. :(

I've now got to learn light infantry Foot drill as i'm used to heavy.

Though, Maleme is a tad early for the RAFR. I (and my bank balance) is happy being muddy evil for the time being ;)

Hi Guy,
Maleme is technically the reason why the Regt were created, Fallschimjaeger attacks had been widespreadly predicted during the battle of Britain and Airfield defence was normally left to the Army.
When Crete fell to the suprise invasion by Fallschimbunnies the RAF decided to form the Regt as specific Anti fallschimjaeger troops, Thus meaning the Regt was an Elite unit formed to fight against an Elite unit.

Which also meant they got the best men, best equipment and were also better paid  than normal forces.
