Does anyone know anything about Flo hand-picking 6 orderlies to work with her? My mate's family has a legend that his Great-whatever-Grandfather was one of them. Is there anyway he could find out?

Thanks.

Because there would have to be three of them.

it seems a likely thing for her to do and quite in character but i am only going on speculation. an educated guess however as i do know that she hand picked her nurses to accompany her to the crimea. i know this because betsy cadwalleder aka elizabeth davis missed the first wave and went out with the second wave. flo advertised in the times for volounteers and then interviewed them herself as she was quite picky. betsy was never a favorite of hers and went out to balaclava on her own steam because flo overlooked her. quite the snob by all accounts. but like all history mearly speculation
