Highwayman Rapier

Postby Andy92 » Mon Sep 09, 2013 4:48 pm

Bit of a random question but does anyone have a rapier suitable for a highwayman that they could take a photo of and send to me? I'm currently trying to publish my late brother's second book and could do with one for the cover.

Credit would, of course, be given and all proceeds are donated to the bursary set up in his memory to help students of history.

Many thanks,
Andy

You could try this:

If suitable, you are welcome to use one of these: if so, pm me and I'll send you a copy of the originals (full-size).

Best regards

You're going to have to be a bit more specific in dateline- even allowing for the timeline of this section there's a fair amount of variation in swords that could be called "rapier".

That's before the reality that most highwaymen used firearms to do their job and were likely ex-cavalrymen so were conceivably more likely to carry broadswords.

Thanks, Dux Rostrius. I've sent a pm over.

Phil: It's a fantasy book for children. Just this once I'm not too fussed about the historical accuracy. Please don't kill me :P
