Edgecote 1469 Battlefield walk

Postby Anthony of the MSS » Thu Jul 25, 2013 10:10 pm

Fancy a walk with a difference? Tomorrow (26th July) is the anniversary of the 1469 Battle of Edgecote, which took place a few miles northwest of Banbury. Members of the Medieval Siege Society will be walking the battlefield, and placing red and white roses at the site of the heaviest fighting. Come and find out about the battle - arguably the worst day in WELSH history, and the only real battle where Robin Hood turned up. Meet 18:00 at the Griffin Public house for a 18:30 start. Walk is approximately three miles, and we will retire to the pub afterwards for a well earned pint. Pub details can be found here : http://www.thegoodpubguide.co.uk/pub/vi ... n-OX17-1LB
