Thanks Sophia, but I should have said purely a Latin translation. I reckon it will be something like 'necrosis', but not sure. Qoutation from religious sources, a bit inappropriate for a Pagan like me!

Or a lion Rampant queue fouchy sable
or in other words a raggedy balck lion on his hinfdlegs on a yellow field.
These would ahve been hsi personal colours given he appears to ahvebeen connected with somerset I would assume hs men wore some sort of somerset badge
There’s a country in Europe where they treat their ex soldiers with pride no waits for medical treatment after injuries received during service, no amensia from the government. Cant for the life of me recall where it is but I know exactly where it is not.

is it an unofficial rule of WOTR livery that 90% of groups have to include red?

Do not be loath, diligent reader, to winnow my chaff, and lay up the wheat in the storehouse of your memory. For truth regards not who is the speaker, nor in what manner it is spoken, but that the thing be true - Nennius, 8th century

"s it an unofficial rule of WOTR livery that 90% of groups have to include red? "
yes, and the other 90% is to be black.
Due to a little known statute lobbyed for by the red and black dye sellers league, motto 'you can have any colour as long as it is black and red', first league chief was one Harry Fforde.

Weren't they breifly lancastrian, then mostly yorkist up until Bosworth when they became decisively lancastrian/tudor, then the younger one (william) changed his mind again and supported perkin warbeck and got his head chopped of, or something like that.StaffordCleggy wrote:Whatever side happened to be winning!lidimy wrote:Were the Stanleys fighting for the Yorkists or Lancastrians?

But as for the Marquis of Dorset...
(nb before anybody points out that the cerise is wrong it is, in fact, mulberry which is correct. In actual fact, his standard is so much more garish even than the livery that we are currently fighting for who is going to make it up for next season. It is white and mulberry halved, unicorn rampant against a sunburst in gold, with pinks (the flowers) on the second half of the flag. It is so effete, and we are all in touch with our feminine sides, except me. I have a head start.)

It sounds beautiful and I look forward to seeing it, I'm trying to persuade the maunch to adopt the livery of the Gonzaga family, salmon pink and jade green, as our "away" colours. There is considerable resistance to this though so any outside preasure that you can bring to bear.
