octagonal tent shapes - right for 1470?

Post by r33nact0r »

I have just bought an octagonal shaped tent - can anyone tell me whether that shape is right for 1470?

I personally don#t recall seeing a specifically octagonal tent in period illustrations.
Do you mean octagonal as in 8 rectangular panels make up the sides, and the top of the wall/ bottom of the roof is octagonal as well?

Do you have a photo you could post here? That would make it easier :-)

probably not...

Looks like you maybe right Mr Griffin.

Iv'e seen an octagonal medieval Pavilion, looked really good. don't know if it's authentic, but it looked the part.

Also seen an olive green WW2 German tent with clear plastic windows used as an authentic medieval tent, made me chortle :D
