My Beautiful Greaves.

I'm just having the final tweaks applied to my new suit of plate at the moment; adding points to the jack, last bit of reshaping to match the whole lot together with the padding, that sort of thing.

Meanwhile I just wanted to post a couple of pictures of my greaves, which I think are a particularly fine shape.

I'm sure that if I'd have said "Suit of Plate" someone would have jumped down my throat whilst shouting words like "harness".

Since all the terms we use are modern, at least in terms of the interpretation we apply to them, they can all suck my....

Interesting, looks like they both use the same pattern or something. Even the little eye at the back for the top strap to pass through, and the pin on the front to connect to the upper leg are the same, as are the type of straps. The only discernable difference I can make out is that you have plain buckles.

Still, they're very nice! :D

The belt loop and pin fastening are on many original pieces.
The shape is typical milanese; gothic is probably not any different.

In other words, both armourers have copied from the originals. Mine is very largely based on a particular piece.

I just think the dimensions on my legs set off the form especially well.

Reciprocation.

If I thought you were up to it, I'd let it be you.

seeing as I'm quite attached to my legs, I'll pass :P

But thanks for the consideration ;)

But all joking aside, they are mightily fine.

Very nice mate - I dare you to post the pics on the Dark Side and show the dormouse bursters and North Sea pedestrians what they're missing! :D

Very nice. How's the fit?

Greaves are my next purchase from Aplaisance too.

Then I just need to get well enough to wear them

Exquisite.

That means that everything has had a fitting prior to completion, and a double check on delivery/collection (although it's all been bob on).

We never did a proper fitting for paldrons, over the curass, actually on me and wearing my jack; so I need to go back and have a final tweak in the next week or so.

It's been worth the effort though. The whole thing is just beautiful.

I didn't pay all that money to share my [victims] opponents with anyone.

If this doesn't bring them to me like fruit flies to rotting bananas then I will be asking for a refund!
