something like a small barrell.......builders sand.....and a hill....need i say more?.
BTW its really good to spray maille with a silicone spary before use in rain, and it helps prevent hard work(as outlined above)

Ikea bag and sharp sand.
Put the mail in the bag with 2 handfulls of sand, grab each end and raise and lower each hand alternately to roll the mixture from one end of the bag to the other. It is a good workout equivalent to doing 10kg dumbell curls.

Make a peasent do it.

Put mail in a box/bag with some sand (as said by everyone above) and then put box/bag in a cement mixer for 10 minutes. Works a treat.

coke, sand, bucket and washing machine put coke, sand and maile in bucket. turn washing machine on and wander of for a beer.
when the wash load is done so should the maile, repeat if your still thirsty.

Wouldn't that send the washing machine to hell?

Or linen bag containing sand + mail in a laundrette's washing machine.
The mail can't be heavier than than the 18m of linen I did once.

The way I found that worked very well is sharp sand a bit of water and some washing up liquid. The important bit is borrowing a cement mixer off someone this takes all the effort out of doing it!

Put maille in a stout hessian bag, soak in mares urine, tie each end to opposing sides of baggage waggon wheel. Traditional and eco friendly. Let me know if you want some mares urine.

If it's only light rust, you might get enough movement in it during wear, especially if you get hit a lot.

I have had a mail shirt on public feely touchy display for some time at the Tower now. Its briliantly polished from being handled, merely the action of being picked up about 2,000 times per day has burnished it beautifully.
Soooo...just wear it for a few weeks. Go jogging in in, run upand down stairs.
You'll be fit, the mail will be shiny and you won't have killed a washing machine

You go jogging in yours? I wear mine to the pub!

wear mine in the shower. It saves buying all that exfoliation body scrub rubbish although its a wee bit harsher than apricot stone chippings
