From just reading Foxe's post I'm wondering how well a staggered roll out would work for the WotR's

Having a small force on the field to be attacked by a larger force and then escelate up to the full on battle.

This could add that interest for participants as well as public.

One of our group has a stunt cannon that can be blown apart in a battle/cannon display though in a battle it needs lots of space. He was also responcible for the pyrotechnics the first time Berkley had then and used over 90 charges. Arhcery wise I'm fine with archer combatants so long as they've tra...

Well towards the end of the season in the Fed the archers were combatants At Bosworth they charged a bill block on both days At Blore they charged a bill block on Sunday The problem with this is many archers are ARCHERS and have no idea what to do with that sword in their hand. If combative archers ...

I love the fact that in Battle plan pt1 I'm stood on the wrong side of the lines seen as how I was supposed to be defending the castle and had gone through the lines.

No-one even tried to kill me though could have sat down and had a nice cup of tea......

I've been in a parley like that its just when they start blabbing about something to remotely do with why we're fighting and shout it out and about 5 people hear it. I filmed the Sunday of Blore 2004 and they did the whole Parley shouty stuff out like For King and Country etc I was right on the batt...

I would like to hear what the Parley says in the centre its one thing for two groups to move forward and wave arms etc but the mops who are watching its a boring 5-10 minutes while it happens. Or drop it al together. Maybe small skirmishes before the battle even starts wet the MOP's interest before ...

[quote="Alan_F"]Some other points that I think need addressing are: More people taking their hits. Some friends of mine were deeply unimpressed at a battle they saw when one side were clearly getting hit but refusing to acknowledge it. [quote] This causes a problem As a WotR's re-enactor a...

There is a issue of training riders to be able to use the horse safely, effectivly, abd above all entertainingly in the US having a horse does not seem to be that big a thing I know of a least 15 13-22 years olds who come from "middle class" families who own and ride horses. one of my friends in the...

I agree with you it would look impressive to have "patrolls" going around and being attacked seemingly randomly but the wholeness of "impromptu" still leave the fact that people will have to be in fighting kit all day for when that are summoned up I for one would not enjoy the per say show opening s...

Two or three set pieces over the course of the day focussing on say 1. Initial archery duel and firepower 2. A major skirmish 3.
