You'll be lucky if you only have to wait two hours to die! I've seen the preliminary research for the script - WOW! Its going to be fun, fun, fun.
Mummy's not planning on re-writing history is...

We live in Durham and went to see the above-mentioned maniple and stole of St Cuthbert in the Cathedral treasury last year. It's amazing that something so fragile has survived this long. Admittedly it's now in a glass case at a controlled temperature and humidity and low lighting, but it's still re...

The British Museum Pattern Book - Early Medieval Designs by Eva Willson. Contains lots and lots of line drawings ranging from early 6th century to 13th century. Most of it is carvings and manuscripts but I'm sure they could be transposed to embroidery. Or there is the Llan-gores textile which is By...

Anglo Saxon Embroidery patterns

Does any one know of any books or websites where i can find some typical Anglo Saxon embroidery, Preferably later style 10\11th C.

I dont want to go the usual zoomorphic Celt/Viking style, as i have that on other kit, i just fancied something that was more typically Saxon.

Cheers

gotta stay in character. See, now the majority of the time, i play a good god fearing saxon, but i manage to leave it behind me. I kneel for my blessings along with everyone else at Hastings. This is why i have done something i swore i would never do, become a viking for some shows, and not just an...

Swap to kittens, once shaved they can be place on a spit, and served with a fine herb salad and some wild rice. Very nice eaten skyclad, in the middle of a wood with a nice blazing fire.

Re: Medieval costume and furs...

Hello, can anyone offer advice on the wearing of furs during the medieval period? I have recently been given a wolf skin cloak but in all the books I possess and on all the websites I've visited the only mention to fur cloaks i've found has been in Sweden and then as an pictorial sterotype used to ...

All this modern Druidism stuff is made up from when the victorians re-invented it, obviously nothing exists from the "originals" so I'm not sure how they justify it, I'd imagine most of neo-paganism is the same. I've encountered various forms of neo-paganism and I deduced that they pretty just make...

If you listen to the commentary on the DVD, the director justifies the use of rock music and modern language (and face painting!) quite well - he says something along the lines of "just like there's kids' music and parents' music now, there was kids' music and parents' music then, Kids music, Queen...
