Re: Herne Bay/ Canterbury Reenactment group wanting members!

Welcome to the forum KnightDavid, I've put a copy of this thread through to "Societies " too, where people go to look for groups in their area.

Re: Noah's Ark

It generated lots of attention, and a couple of orders, so, happy to have had it on the stand. I assume you had problems getting to the show? If you'd like it posting, just email me your address on lucythetudor@gmail.com and I can courier it to you, or if you'd rather not pay the courier, let me kno...

Re: Noah's Ark

Wow! That's an odd thing to do.Even as a Christian, I find it odd to consider the ark as historical fact, ripe for reenactment, but whatever floats your boat...
I think the specifications for our vessels were slightly different, as mine is a little more portable.

Re: Noah's Ark

The animals are coming happily in two by two for this, well most of them are ( just a few sets, not the whole of creation, I'll leave that to the ultimate deity), but the sheep are struggling. One, yep, fine, but five others in and I keep lopping the legs off the second sheep. One sheep may well be ...

We are at Godmanchester, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to allocate enough time by then. I'll see what I can do and let you know. No deposit needed, if you don't like it when it's done, someone else will. x

Re: Noah's Ark

Jolly good, about a foot complete, with animals, ark in ash ( as kid proof as wood gets) , animals in other hardwoods, waxed wood and some detail pyrography ( eyes etc). Would be £35 plus delivery, or where will we see you next, if you'd like to save postage?

Re: Noah's Ark

Bless you Phil.
I can make you one up, happily, did you want pine for economy or hard woods, and can you give me an idea of what size you wanted it to be, then I can quote you a price. ( ark and a goodly number of animals- if you want everything but the unicorn, it may be a little pricey).

Which charitable cause does that help?

Re: Jacobites

It's a beautiful moody picture, and a cracking setting, but I can't help being reminded of playing " spot the ball" with my Dad's old coupons for the pools. No two men are looking at the same thing- has someone just asked whose turn it is to do the washing up?

Hmm,it was kneeling down to do something to the wheel on the horsebox, then sitting back on my haunches to reach for the wheel brace which did for me.
Only thirty years ago, and I still remember why it was stupid.

It depends what you want it made from, I do silk cord for bodice ties at £6 for around five feet, with rivetted aiglets each end. Wool or linen a little cheaper, message me with the lengths you'd like, and the fibres you prefer, and we'll talk turkey.

Hamster, we agree on lots of points there, but my lass and I love the Fairy folk stuff, particularly the clothes, so maybe if the current space ever gets full with authenty, we could have a new field set aside for our annual clothes buying treat?

Echoing the thanks for a happy and jolly event, warm and dry was taken a bit far, but you can't have everything... We had a smashing time, sold plenty, for which my bills are very grateful, and saw old and new friends. We really liked the band on Saturday night, and all the family bought a little so...

News must be slow at the BBC, Ulinka Rublack first wrote about this in 2010!! The original book was uploaded on to the web in August 2011. You can download the entire of Matthaus Schwarz's book as high resolution scan from http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Trachtenbuch_des_Matthaus_Schwarz_aus...

Sorry, I'm not a lot of use for places round Nottingham, for making from scratch, I always recommend Jackie at Cloak'd and Daggered. She is reliable and efficient, and damned good value for great quality and fit. She is based in Cheshire, but gets to lots of shows round and about. http://www.cloaked...

Did I ever mention how much I love you, Mr The Kyle ?
Alice, you're not the only one, and I still have my Nan's button collection, which she had dutifully cut off any garment which was too tired to keep, and I use them .
