Sal George23b is correct with his idea another way is to have the rear gold lion on a small red shield (escutcheon) placed on the white.

If you want to stay with the original coat details, but we can discuss it at KS as you suggested.

Sal you could make the coats with the back like the front, ie: white in Dexter (right) Red in Sinister (left) as white is argent (silver) heraldic rules dictate you cannot have metal on metal ie; gold on silver. Craig Ive been using an old copper post horn for our events with knights et Armis, it is limited to range of notes but with practice you can come up with a decent fanfare. I would prefer a better one being as it got squashed/repaired. Also tried to do the Starwars fanfares but it was nigh impossible...

Heraldic banners are a mirror image on the reverse ie: a rampant lion
always faces the 'Dexter' (pole) so would be facing it on the rear also.
