Interesting leather cover there.....I wonder if this was to go with the Australian 1915 leather webbing or was simply to save on cloth. From the bits i've read they did struggle with cloth supplies at times, with some jackets fading to a weird sort of grey colour. One thing they didnt suffer shortag...

Water Bottle Covers

Hi Folks, Im doing a WW1 Australian impression and have a couple of water bottles that need new covers. Can anyone tell me where I can get these from? The only place I've found so far is What Price Glory. Alternatively where could I get correct cloth to make my own. Any and all help/advice welcome. ...

Just wanted to say thanks again for the book recommendation. Managed to find a copy of the volumes on ebay so all being well they should arrive fairly soon and I can begin finding out much more about the man in question!

Thanks for the info, I'll try and find a copy of the book. A pitty that no details have survived about what the men wore as I would have very much liked to know. I read somewhere that some of his men may have worn blue coats at one point but it was not entirely clear as to when or for how long. I wi...

Hoping someone out there might be able to help me with this one. I'm trying to find out about the units under the command of Sir William Brereton durring the English Civil War. As far as I'm aware Crown Forces are still going. As has been said the Queens Rangers are down in the south west also.

The 22nd and 47th are mostly based in the North.

If it's a local group (south west) you need try sending ACF or QR an email or something.
