i've use one to hang a short fighting axe from but like most i've stop using it cut it gets caught up in my legs and end up holding the axe while on the march.

I don't have my tattered copy to hand, but are there any clues to be had in the Chronicles of Joinville and Villehardouin? If you haven't read them then I urge you to do so. Cheap enough on Amazon (get the more modern Smith translation rather than the Shaw). There might be clues in other eyewitness...

this brings in the other side of the coin as it were. if commands are given in which language would they have been spoken. the Knight Hospitaler and Templer are of mixed peoples but they are monastic in nature would they yell commands in latin or is the language of the person yelling. i know from ex...

at TORM this year i watching one of the chaps from Cap-a-pie making the rivited mail it appears that the wedge rivets are the easiest to use. the gent making the armour was just using normal blunt nosed pilers nothing special. it looked so easy i may have a go myself. http://www.capapie.co.uk/materi...
