Adequate response would be "Interesting, thanks for sharing" . That is all I need to know whether or not I should bother posting any more articles/videos/posts. The responses on youtube are excellent.
Thank you.

Couldn't load plug in message again, nice collection of kit, the hatchet is a good size, with brass/bronze barrel on old guns, be aware of crystalization of the metal, not visible to the eye, but in old metal it occurs and can lead to barrel failure, so don't hold them the first couple of times the...

Re: NO "charcloth" Fire Lighting.
Very little interest shown in this post, surprising. Can we assume that this was already common knowledge for the majority of forum members? Or is it just that no one here apart from those who commented are interested in period fire lighting skills? Just trying to get a handle on what people want to...

Re: Leather waistcoat for workmen
Hi there I am still building up my library and references for this period. As such I've not been able to find any pictures/references for leather working man's waistcoat, but I have such a limited pool of resources at the moment I wondered whether anyone had heard of such a thing? They seem to make...

Re: Underwear
Museums are not getting any better. A lack of online collections, collections difficult to access because of not knowing what terminology the museum is using, & a distinct lack of items showing, online or in the museum, & the lack of dating on items! I find this lack of dating amazing in a museum co...

Equipment Update.
Just a couple of images of some of the equipment I am carrying on treks at present. Finally I managed to get a flintlock pistol. The ramrod was too short to be practicle, which seems to be a common problem, so I made a new wood ramrod with an antler tip. https://s5.postimg.org/vb1ewbimf/Tools_of_the...

Thanks for the email reminder. Just a quick observation. You are trying to attract more people to Living History, something I have been doing globally for over 40 years. But I notice the lack of interaction on this forum. Some of my posts from way back have still received no comments. Now I don't th...

NO "charcloth" Fire Lighting.
Charred cloth was used by the gunner on 17th & 18th century ships, & it was used in city & town homes. Mostly what was used was "toe rag". But outside of the towns only plant tinders were used, although some travellers did also carry charred cloth in their tinderboxes, but not woodsrunners. German t...

Yes, but 'bullet boards' doesn't look like a rude word when you read it fast....... Here's a couple of 'gorget' style ones, in limewood, one plain and the other a little more sculpted. I think I'll try some more elaborate, decorated ones, until I get bored with the whole thing. Do you have any docu...

Re: Ball Blocks
Nice looking boards, I have seen originals that look similar but the tie goes through a hole on the board. Nice looking French style knife. Do bear in mind though that gunpowder was NOT poured down the barrel directly from the powder horn as you suggest. A very dangerous thing to do! As for the othe...
