Hi All Sorry I've not been very active on here lately but I have been getting things in place. The only update I can give at the moment is that The Archers will be taking membership application as from end of February at ILHF and any new member will be insured from the date they receive their member...

Re: The Archers A New Society

Sorry forgot to comment on armour. When you said about what if an archer wants to get into combat (or something to that effect) I'm hoping that if an archer wants to be combatant then they will have the appropriate armour for their own safety, would you go into hand to hand without correct protectio...

Re: The Archers A New Society

Firtly to answer your last question it will be a society rather than profit making as I have my company for profit making. Secondly, I think I should have been clearer when I quite loosely stated kit will cross over several periods. Lets not make a big issue of this but it does now apparently need c...

Re: The Archers A New Society

I forgot to put in my last post - The beauty of having thia sort of society is it is like no other. You are in your smaller groups because you like the people your with, the period you do and it's your choice to be in that group. With what I have in mind you will still be in your group, you will sti...

Most re-enactment groups have members that are not local so are willing to travel. Most events are not on your doorstep...

Re: The Archers A New Society

Hi Martin, Membership, I'm hoping will only be £5.00 per person per year, but as this is just getting off the ground I put £7.00 knowing that that would cover costs. The benefits of having 'The Archers' insurance cover will mean you are able to shoot at events that are being hosted by 'The Archers' ...

The Archers A New Society

The Archers A New Society Sometime ago I realised that the amount of archers on the field at re-enactments was some what lacking, now that isn’t a criticism, as logistically I fully understand that mustering archers from nowhere is just not possible. Most groups have archers no matter what period th...
