Typically, an SCA event is for the participants' benefit. The Caerphilly Fair was a bit of an exception, being as much for the Public's entertainment as ours. Hi Tod, The Stripeyness is partly personal taste, partly ruleset. There's little you can do to disguise a 1 1/4" rattan baton as a sword, so I prefer to tape it up so it looks like a painted baton. Most SCAdians just go with silver gaffer tape and a thin black line to indicate the theoretical e...
