Would anyone know what era this short sword could be from? The description from the man that found it is - a kingfisher blue hilt with a gold tassel attached. The blade was quite short and the whole thing was possibly 2 ft long. The find was made about 15 years ago on the site of a vanished village ...

how about Katherine by Anya Seton? Well researched story of the mistress of John of Gaunt who became his third wife eventually and the ancestress of the Tudors. Wonderful descriptions of medieval life and is meant to be fairly accurate
