Re: Poss extra Tewkesbury event 2016
if I may stick up for the traders selling " tat" or not 100% aufentic, they have a business to run and that business is selling to the MOPs who want a "bit of history" for their mantel piece and not a pair of 100% aufentic hand knitted socks or a coif, they want shiny helmets, crap swords etc for th...

Re: Quick question regarding pitch fee's, refunds etc
yup, very well put Elaine and thanks, I was starting to think I was wrong but I know Im not, its all been building up TBH, this year the same person told me he had seen the signs for a market he was running, directions to the market etc, then, during the event, when no signs we're put up and the MOP...

Re: Quick question regarding pitch fee's, refunds etc
Tod, they didnt, we had many emails asking why we werent there, not one of them saw the poster, lots of people commented on FB they didnt see a poster anywhere, we are struggling to stay in business at the mo, because of injuries and cancelled shows we really are teetering on the edge, loads of stoc...

Tod, your opinion was that I was wrong, we disagree and posted because we that we disagree where is the harm in that, that was Suzies first post on here in all the years Ive been using the forum, thats how strongly we feel, our chances of recouping any losses at the market were ruined by the fact I ...

Re: Quick question regarding pitch fee's, refunds etc
Tod, Suzie here, the organisor was notified 5 days prior to the event that we wouldn't be attending and that another trader had offered to print flyers and posters explaining our absence and my accident and place them on our pitch space that we had paid for, Martin has not named anyone on here, he h...

Re: Quick question regarding pitch fee's, refunds etc
Tod, I asked before what the pitch fee is used for in a previous rant about this persons ability to put a show on, when I was directly misled or lied to if you will, I was then told by other organizers only the space / pitch area NOT advertising, not paying for infrastructure etc JUST the ground spa...

Re: Quick question regarding pitch fee's, refunds etc
Dave, lack of refund wasn't a problem, unfortunate but each person runs their business as they see fit, fair enough,BUT the fact I'd paid meant I had use of the ground space, I emailed explaining what I wanted doing on the ground space I paid for, which was to use it for advertising, nowt in any T&C...

Re: Quick question regarding pitch fee's, refunds etc
Whats unlikely Dave ? Quick question regarding pitch fee's, refunds etc
As a trader I am fully aware that if I book and pay for a pitch I only have actually booked an area of space and that my pitch fee is the organizoers to use as they see fit ( i didnt in the past but I kinda accept it now :) ) but if I book a pitch, am unable to attend due to a serious accident, phys...

go for one that gives you a manual click clack type of one, many of the shows you do may be in castle grounds etc, thick stone walls cut off signal, we've used 2 different companies, the last one supplied a manual one which we've used 75% more than the shitty, cant pick up a signal piece of electric...

Re: What does your pitch fee go to ? does a market improve a
I dont want to keep harping on about one particular show TBH, its just that over the weekend many traders talked about what our pitch fee's are used for so I thought I'd see what the general concensus was, it was a general discussion among traders who only trade at reenactments and traders like us w...

Re: What does your pitch fee go to ? does a market improve a
I dont know how to put across what Im saying very well, but it was a topic of discussion among many of the traders over the weekend, so as this is the traders section I thought I'd air it, obviously we, as traders, should have no expectations then, thats fair enough :) , but a minimal effort to make...

Re: What does your pitch fee go to ?
Im not saying organizers shouldn't earn money its the whole point of many of them doing it and rightly so, im saying some have to make sure they uphold their end of the bargain, but it looks like Im the only one, even other traders obviously don't think its a problem, fair enough, reenactment shows ...

Re: What does your pitch fee go to ?
yup, I agree, but that was years ago m8, then, a few bods in kit belting each other was enough to get a few families out in a field to watch as the hobby grew more was needed, otherwise imagine shows without a market i.e, how long would the crowd be around Tewksbury if there was no market to look at...

Customers, thats the word I was trying to think of to describe a trader, we are customers also, we pay a fee and in exchange for that fee we expect certain things

What does your pitch fee go to ? does a market improve a sho
I just wanted to think what other traders / organizers think ? I know it allows us to sell our wares at a given show and pays for the space your stall takes up but I assumed pitch fee's go to infrastructure, advertising etc, there is no reason I believe that and some folk say its ONLY for the abilit...

wow, if they did that an awful lot of traders in town would suffer massively, I would have thought they would rely on that trade now its been on for so many years, I went for a walk in the town at peek time a couple of years ago the crowd was so densely packed it was claustrophobic, the Bishops Pala...
