Re: medieval copper sulphate?

Ferrous sulphate ( Copperas ) is also used in refining gold but it only works if fresh, when oxidized it is no good, and there is no copper in it.

copper is also used, both are used to get metals dissolved in acid out of the solution as a precipitate

Re: Rivets / Brass for a splinted tasses/greaves/arms

have lots of odd rivets in several metals inc brass, 3/8 diameter I think is too big, 3/16 is probably more like it.
I have some round head and lots of small flat head.

3/8 rivets would have a head diameter of just under 3/4"

7. i. Traders who say 'its right for any period' are usually wrong. So treat the object in question and all their other wares with some suspicion. a lot of my stuff is not right, but it is often the compromise to keep to the venues rules, EG fires off the ground. I try to make a point of not saying...

talk to other traders, was the event lacking last year in staff, toilets, signage, or anything else then dont book a pitch there , organisers who can only get rubbish traders and few mops would soon go out of business.
