Corcoran jump boots
Hi, stupid question but it's bugging the hell out of me. How did british/yank troops lace up their jump boots around d-day? I've a pair of corcoran jump boots which I use for both us airborne and british commandos. I've found loads on the Internet saying that they used the ladder style but this seem...

Re: 14thC Islamic kit
Thanks to everyone so far for the contributions :D I'm seeing a lot of the same point, which are that if you saw someone dressed this way in an English battle then it wouldn't be acceptable, which is perfectly acceptable in itself - as someone else said, there are plenty of mulitperiods to be getti...

Re: Historical novels that aren't utter drivel?
Not sure how accurate these are but I recommend the conqueror series by conn iddulden, really easy reading! I just tend to go into the libary and pick a random book from a random shelf, read what its about unless it's a series, in which case I try to find the first book, and just take them home, fou...

Re: Milanese export harnesses
That's what my tin is, though it's probably not the greatest example ever produced! It has the the same plate as a millanise harness but with only a few subtle folds, my breast has only three folds I believe around the armpits and across the chest. The arms and legs also have the bare minimum of fol...

Hi,
A bit of a silly question, but is there some where i can go on the site to view all the banners that you have? I wanted to order some stuff but i can't remember who it was from, just their banner. I've been refreshing pages but it never seems to appear.

Some thing that has been nagging at me with this, and I am not that sure on this myself, but how different is modern armour compaired to the originals? what i mean is, would an original hand forged brand new 15th cent millanise made at the time be better or worse then say our newer modern reproducti...

I love this thread! Having been reading this from the start, I am only now adding my thoughts, which glyndwr 50 has provoked! I think he is bang on the money with the shooting of the horses. The tin men though? I'm not so sure about, I know that a war bow can penetrate a good breastplate, but its tw...

I have an 8 year old Past Tents large Burgundian and it has never leaked. I get the impression the older tents are the ones to go for, as some have said their build quality went a bit downhill recently. That might be the case then, mine and my mates were both made around the same time, and both lea...

I have a past tents medium bergundian(sp?) which because I had it coloured and what not, with a pavilion cost me about £1.2K, but with hindsight, I would of rather have spent the same with Vic James!! PT, because they produce so much so quickly (from order to collection I think my tent took 3 weeks)...

Should I put "blanket" under the legs. Or to put it another way between my hose and the metal? I don't; I just own a pair of "fighting hose" and expect to patch them regulalry, and replace them every or every other season. Same here, the hose don't get too damages anyway from the tin, they just get...
