I was wondering if anyone as any evidence for painted Great helms in the 14th century, I am unsure weather or not to paint mine in my colours or not. but also haven't really seen any primary sources showing it

sadly tristen wont be making it, I am playing with my band all the weekend its a shame I loved that show mite try to go to rochester (SP) not sure yet really depends on the cash flow

the harness is made by steel mastary I think the coat was made by Mr hautary who is married to kitty the hat I think... yeah i mite change the coat though the idea is to show my wealth in Tournament. well the wealth of the person i am playing. blue is part of the greystoke colours there will be read with the crest and
I will have full colours on my shield just got to get it all sorted and made now!

yeah thats what Im going for. greystokes badge is a becon im getting that made at the moment got red and blue leather for the mantle on the great helm even working out a way to have real fire in the becon just for drmatic effect. luckly for me my girlfriends dad is an artist and said he would paint ...

First shots of me in my new harness

This is a pic of me in my new harness it needs some work and Im making the crest for my helm as this is going to be my tournment harness. I am going to make the harness as "bling" as possible! any ideas would be great.

The way I found that worked very well is sharp sand a bit of water and some washing up liquid. The important bit is borrowing a cement mixer off someone this takes all the effort out of doing it! :D

cool thanks i have part of the armour and its amazing stuff some of the best i have seen just want the rest. if its something that other people experance then i wont worry and will just wait.
