I only picked up a few flints. The selection Ron had left at about 3pm wasn't great. I did pick up a bit of leather to seat the flints better though (old one had work too thin to be much good). The most successful thing was leaving my frizzen to be rehardened (again). Too many misfires at the last f...

I'll be there on Saturday with brats in tow to get them kit for next season. But don't let that put you off.

Also need to get my frizzen hardened. It just about gave up the ghost at GPM. Oh and lots more flints.

John it's not the adults you need worry about being a bad influence, it's Jacob and Finn. Several trees will be climbed, waist high in stinging nettles and at least one grazed knee. Jon you might want to have a chat with Nick next time you see him, re bad language. I agree with you. If there is no one to look after you sprog during the skirmish - on the Redcoat camp, ask the girls on ours (very nicely) and they might. We are a family friendly group so "Softhand Jon's"...

Hey, I've got a weekend pass. On the proviso I bring a very small but very keen redcoat (more a redscarf really - he's only 5) I am planning on making some mulled cider which is great for cold evenings. For those who have booked food (hint) there will also be stew and kit cat (sp?) pies. And as much...

As promised, a couple of pics scanned in from the local paper. It's a shame not many public showed up, it was well advertised locally, but as Andy says it was a very soggy weekend.

I hope NFOE do get invited back next year - it is a great site.

NFOE at Gilbert White's House - Selbourne

NFOE got a good write up in my local paper after the event at Gilbert White's House in darkest Hampshire on 30th June / 1st July. Several good photos - mostly of the French. Nice picture of Geoff looking suitably medicinal, although the caption read "Geoff King as the Doctor" - left me won...
