Re: 10,000 BC

My favourite was the guy who sh@t near the camp and when he was caught out he pointed to the sh1t and said "I may have done that bit... but not those bits" Genius! Apart from that, a valuable insight into how people from 21st Century society cope in the wilderness... and how they d...

A little something we worked on this year (Crackanory)

We provided the people and some of the costumes/props.

All a bit of fun, script seemed amusing enough. Screening Oct 22nd.

Cheers, they generally look at contemporary or projected technology, not back. But I emphasised the importance of the Centenary and as a result a few other articles related to WW1 got published. What they liked about mine was the link to current technology and the transition from MK5 metal helmets i...

Re: Newbie's guide to kit buying

I always tell people to start with the footwear and work upwards. (Outside regular Roman army issue kit or gladiatorial re-enactment) If people were rich enough/clever enough/lucky enough to have a sword after 410AD and up to the late medieval era - then they were certainly rich enough/clever enough...

We've invested in lots of new kit, not only that Mr Watson (Shields and Shoes) made us some lovely gladiatorial shields... which we've just painted!

Re: Britannia's big London Gladiator event 2011

We seem to be doing an increasing amount of green-screen work. Fascinating stuff, often confined to a small stage (so some weapon adaptations have to be made). Promotional work for Sky TV and Museum client. (800 tickets for this event sold in the first week... looks good! :)) The great thing about g...

I must admit, I did wince a few times when these young-uns chucked themselves about.

I think a combination of youthful energy, coffee and a diet rich in fish-oil produces some good crowd-pleasing results!

Well some of us are closet Normans anyways... on reflection they weren't quite right-wing enough for my liking!!!
