So our old web host hardware died a death on us and I wasn't sure at the time that it was worth bringing the old forums back to life.
But I've had so many requests and questions about it - that I decided to go ahead and restore it all.
If you find any discrepancies please let me know

Re: These forums - undead, or still twitching?
If we could get everybody to post 1 new topic and get 1 other person to post 1 new topic every month, it really wouldn't take much to get things revitalised.
These things are self-fulfilling, get a few active people and suddenly the whole thing takes off.

Re: These forums - undead, or still twitching?
The lack of new posts is dis-heartening, but there is a genuine set of daily views which is way more than just webcrawlers and the sponsors are still getting valid links from the site too. I don't think facebook groups provide the same function but I don't know if forums are live anymore or not in g...

Yes, we have a view of it being all a bit free-wheeling and look after number 1, where as the truth is a long way from that.

Re: No Comments, very disappointing.
With a 1,000 views on each post they are being widely read.
It is not uncommon for people not to comment on posts like these. Don't know why it is just a thing. But the view count is very good and says the posts are worthwhile.

Re: Received your email & am here.
It is true that a lot of read interesting posts but have nothing to add to them. It does feel sometimes like you are shouting into the wind because you get no response even though hundreds may have read the post. I might look at some kind of "read by" counter or similar. I also like the idea of a "l...

Good call.
As well as advertising here you should always have a trawl round local events listings sites too.
We sort of speak to the re-enactors audience here, which are usually more happy to travel good distances as well.

OK, so the email defintely does have the links in it.
What email client do you read your email in?
If you click on the links even if they do not show up as links, do they work anyway?
