Linen or wool.

Hi could anyone help with a query? Were late 14th century doublets, hosen and cotehardie always made from wool or would linen also be an acceptable material? Also were doublets always worn under a cotehardie? Because body linens and two layers on top seems mighty warm if you want to wear a cotehardie!

I've a few questions about this period myself. I've already created linen shirt, braise and split hosen, the latter I may have to redo depending on your advice. I've found that these items are already very warm and the thought of putting woollen outer garments or wooden hosen on seems ridiculous. We...
