we are a small but enthusiastic living history group called Seventeenth Century Life and Times. we cover from approx. 1620 to 1680, more usually 1640s and 1650s .We have an artillery piece and muskets when we are allowed to fire them. sorry I didn't see your post before as we have had some good even...

gosh, what a can of worms you have opened up! When is your banquet? What is you other half wearing? Ordinary soldiers stuff or something a bit fancier? Are you talking about a sausage style bag gathered at both ends? with a cross body strap? Very easy to make. Buy old wool blanket in white or grey from a charity shop.
