Unleavened bread is easy to make. Get some brown bread flour, and mix with with a splash of water and pinch of salt. I often put chopped rosemary in mine. Shape it into flat bread a bit like a pitta about 10 mil thick. bake on a flat tray till golden. It wont keep long so freeze if need be. an apple...

Obviously depends on what condition cheese and bread you have, and whether you use butter or margarine... either way its filling!

From my 1940s cook book you would make lots of these up and hand em out to wardens, fire service etc in a WRVS kitchen Make a cheese sarnie if you have pickle or chutney put some in it. Mix Reconstituted egg or 1 egg with 2 spoons of milk in a bowl and soak your sarnie in it. Fry it! Very filling. f...
