Thanks! So that will be referring to most of the fruit and veg that my offspring don't like then, and don't eat... :D

Re: Medlars

Blett?? Elucidate, please - not that I know anything about what to do with medlars, it's just the word that I don't know.

If you find one, could you let me know, please? I'm trying to do embroidery at shows and would like something authentic ish. Thanks.

Try Clubaxe Ltd - they're based in Saffron Walden and he has about 13 different tents he hires out.

Re: BBC Wartime Farm

We had that kitchenette at home, only it was green! My parents must have bought it round about 1956, and they only got rid of it when they moved in 1995. Aaahh! The memories!

I'll be seeing David on Sunday in theory, so I'll mention that to him and see what he can do.

Re: Peg Loom

At the risk of starting WWIII, what's wrong with lucets? I spend hours fidgeting with one during shows as it gives me something to do and I have miles of never-ending string to hand over for finger weaving! Please don't tell me I have to find something else to mess around with...

Re: Peg Loom

How about the influx of what looks like the Japanese kumihimo (? however it's spelled!) disc braiding? I've seen a lot of it about recently, from Viking to modern, and I was wondering is it actually authentic for any of it?

Re: Victorian Ladies garments

Oh, lawks! If I have to wear a crinoline there'll be no room for anyone else for miles! :(

I think Janet and the rest of us will have to pick a decade and work to that... I'm now going to be 'persuading' them to do 1890s, I think. Thanks for everyone's input! :D

Re: Victorian Ladies garments

We've only been told 'Victorian Lady Archers'. I could do with some help on this one as well - patterns for someone resembling a Victorian out house in size... :(

I've read the book and not seen the film; the book has totally put me off the film... Rubbish!

Re: Anglo Saxons at Stoke Museum

I'm wondering when they're going to break into a chorus of: 'We're men, we're men in tights!'... :$
