HISTORICAL RE-ENACTMENT GROUP

Welcome to an Experience of Tudor Low Life!!!
About the Tudor Travellers

The Tudor Travellers are a small group of Historical Re-Enactors, who portray life in the Sixteen Century.

Specialising in the lower classes, they are able to give a taste of what everyday existence was like for peasants, travelling folk, craftsmen, vagrants and wanderers during a period of continual change.

Accompanied by a wondrous selection of artefacts - some original, others replica, they are able to create a fascinating Living History environment.

Authentically styled tents enliven the experience and give a "step back in time" feel at outdoor venues.

Experience

All group members are highly experienced re-enactors and historical interpreters and have a wealth of knowledge (often little known) from the Tudor period as a result of participating in and presenting to, a wide range of events. Links with other groups and societies are also possible to allow an expansion of the aspects of Tudor life which can be covered.

Tudor Travellers have worked for a varying range of bodies from English Heritage to museum services and education authorities.

Tudor Travellers specialise in bringing Tudor houses, castles, heritage sites and museums alive for the visiting public.

All types of events, such as village fayres, street markets, open days, even weddings can be catered for to enthrall and stimulate visitors and guests.

In-house school presentations are a major part of our work and are given with emphasis on National Curriculum Key Stages 1 & 2.

School rates are very competitive and are based on a per head basis to allow for easy budgeting.

Standards

All costumes are made to look, feel (and smell) as authentic as possible and are hand-stitched to the standards of surviving costume or to well researched sources.

The attention to details and accuracy of the period is meticulous and the aim is to create an atmosphere of realism which rubs off on both public and educational bodies alike.

Conversation can be carried out in both first and third person, depending on the depth and authenticity required. The vast knowledge and experience held provides varied character roles to illustrate the period, each with accurate background research.
